It’s one of the hardest questions skeptics ask and many believers quietly wonder: How can a good and holy God command the destruction of entire peoples? How should we respond when people say the Bible promotes violence or genocide? What do we do with those hard parts of Scripture that seem to conflict with the character of a good and holy God?
In this episode, Pastor Paul is joined by Pastor Jacob and pastoral intern Hwihu for a thoughtful conversation around one of the most emotionally and theologically difficult topics in Scripture. With pastoral care and biblical conviction, they explore how to think well about God’s justice, His purposes in history, and how to hold together the full counsel of God without flinching or flattening the truth.

The sudden death of Charlie Kirk has stirred deep emotions across the nation, revealing both the fractures in our culture and the weight of losing a prominent public voice. In this episode, Pastor Siyoung sits down with Pastor Jacob, our producer Davina and Intern Pastor Andrew to reflect on why this loss has resonated so strongly, what it exposes in the aftermath, and how Christians are called to respond. Rather than giving way to bitterness or fear, we are reminded of our greater calling to pursue Christ, to love His people, and to stand firm in truth with grace.

What does the writer of Hebrews mean when he wrote, "it is impossible [of those] to restore them again to repentance"? Does that mean we can lose our salvation, or could it mean something else? Pastor Paul sits down with Pastor Jacob and pastoral interns Andrew and Hwihu to wrestle with a challenging text.
Whether you're battling doubts, ministering to someone who's wandered or just curious about how to read the hard passages, this conversation will press us deeper into Scripture and stir us toward confidence not in ourselves, but in Christ. And don’t forget to subscribe to our podcast on Living Stones (https://livingstonescornestone.podbean.com/) or follow us on YouTube(https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh_qrMU8kkdUBMfsaAefJmZBD9DlV9uIG) for more Christ-centered conversations!

This episode tackles a topic that rarely gets the thoughtful, biblical attention it deserves: what should Christians do with shows like Game of Thrones—and with the broader world of movies, music, and media?
Pastors Paul, Jacob, Siyoung, and Brother Andrew step into the conversation with clarity and conviction, exploring how our consumption of entertainment shapes our hearts, dulls our discernment, or—when rightly engaged—can stir our affections for what is true, beautiful, and good. This isn’t about retreating from culture or baptizing every Netflix binge; it’s about learning to enjoy media as image-bearers of a creative God, without surrendering our souls to the stories that subtly shape us.

Part 2 digs into a question that speaks directly to the rhythms—and ruts—of work life in Northern Virginia: How do we view work in a culture where we’re often driven, busy, and constantly scheduling life around our jobs… yet just as often grumbling about going back into the office, dragging our feet through the week, or settling for mediocrity instead of pursuing excellence?
Pastors Siyoung, Jacob, and Paul help us reframe the way we see our work—not as a necessary evil or an identity to chase, but as a calling from God to steward with joy, purpose, and faithfulness.

Not everyone agrees on the question of who can be ordained in the church, but Scripture speaks clearly. In this episode, Pastor Siyoung, Pastor Paul, Pastor Jacob, and Hwihu walk through the biblical foundation for male church leadership. Why do we believe that pastors, elders, and deacons should be men? Is this just a cultural holdover or part of God’s good design? Join us as we unpack key passages, address common objections, and consider how a faithful church flourishes under God’s order.

Missions often take shape in unexpected ways, and for Pastor Lou and Lisa Gallo, that calling has led them to South Korea, where they serve North Korean defectors—young men and women who have risked everything to escape one of the most closed-off nations in the world. In this episode, hosted by Davina, we dive into their journey into missions, their deep love for the people they minister to, and their vision for gospel transformation among North Korean defectors and the reunification of the 2 countries.
From students striving to build a new future to older defectors carrying the weight of past suffering, Pastor Lou and Lisa have seen the power of God’s redeeming grace at work. Through discipleship, teaching, speaking, organizing programs and the everyday ministry of walking alongside these individuals, they have witnessed the gospel heal wounds, restore dignity, and open hearts to Christ. Their passion extends beyond individual lives to a longing for the reunification of Korea—believing that true restoration can only come through the hope of the gospel.
This is a story of faithfulness in the midst of suffering, of God's unrelenting pursuit of His people, and of a couple living in obedience to His call. Listen in and be encouraged!
